Job Description

Summary:

This Cabinet level position is responsible for developing and implementing academic and instructional programs.  Duties of the Assistant Superintendent include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervision of the Instructional Supervisors in the development, monitoring, evaluation of district curricula using the district Curriculum Review Plan
  • Lead Instructional Supervisors in the successful implementation of district curricula, strong instructional practices, and data- driven instruction
  • Create and implement the District’s Professional Development Plan every two years
  • Support the District’s instructional coaching program and mentorship program                                                                                           

 

Job Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Master's degree plus a minimum of 5-7 years administrative experience including experience as a principal or district-level administrator
  • Strong leadership and management abilities
  • Knowledge of trends in education, best practices, and educational laws

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Valid SDL or SDA certification
