School Guidance Counselor
Monday – Friday
Responsibilities:
Freshman School counselor will be working directly with ninth-grade students to support their academic, career, and social/emotional development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success. Some tasks will include both academic and social-emotional support counseling, as needed, to support the whole child. A collaboratively designed college/career pathway utilizing our college & career readiness (CCR) software will also be developed to assist students in reaching their future goals and assist in school course planning. Classroom presentations on various topics that include but are not limited to study skills, future planning, and goal setting will occur.
Freshman school counselors will be vital members of the support team. They will assist ninth-grade students in reaching their potential in academic achievement, personal/social development, and career development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
- School Counselor activities include but are not limited to the following,

Provide scheduling and academic support for all freshman

Coordinate ongoing systemic activities designed to assist students in establishing personal goals and developing future plans.

Responsive services including counseling in individual or small-group settings or crisis response.

Assisting students in self-assessment and goal-setting processes

Collaborating with faculty, staff, and community partners for student learning experiences

Communicating college and/or career readiness information to all stakeholders

Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, parents/guardians, and outside service providers

Serve on academy MTSS Teams

Provide college & career guidance programs through SchooLinks

Providing classroom guidance instruction on various topics

Collaborating with other service providers for students' mental and developmental health

Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor
