Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional support through the six defined ACSD methods; individual coaching cycles, small group coaching cycles, modeling, data teaming and assessment, PD/PLC sessions, and instructional resource supports.  (full description of each method available at interview)
  • Coach must be able to fully support technology integration within a virtual instructional world.  Coach must be proficient in the creation of Google classrooms and spreadsheets.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to study, research, and reflect upon best practices to share with various stakeholders.
  • Access, analyze and provide support around the range of available ACSD assessments, including New York State assessments.
  • In collaboration with the Instructional Supervisors and other Coaches, the Instructional coach will actively work to support district-wide curriculum and assessment development. 
  • Manage an assigned caseload as demonstrated through required professional, electronic record keeping such as individual coaching cycle logs and the professional support log. 
  • Work in collaboration with District Coaches, Building Principals, and the Secondary Instructional Supervisors. Participate in required meetings.
  • Actively participate, implement and model any District-Wide initiatives around professional support and student achievement.  Currently this could include; CPT meetings, data teaming, RtI committees, and/or building level leadership team membership.
  • Offer ongoing assessments and evidence of their own professional progress and complete a formal observation of the work.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Instruction - APRK - 6076460764

Summary:

As a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Instruction provides leadership, oversight, and supervision for secondary schools, ensuring high standards of student achievement and instructional excellence. This role also encompasses the supervision of key departments and programs that support student success, safety, and well-being.  Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide direct oversight and support to secondary school principals to promote instructional leadership and high student achievement
  • Supervise the implementation and continuous improvement of the secondary education curriculum and programs
  • Oversee secondary school budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with instructional priorities
  • Lead and oversee the district’s Alternative Education Programs to ensure equitable and effective learning opportunities
  • Serve as a liaison between the Superintendent, secondary schools, and district departments to ensure effective communication and alignment of priorities

Summary:

This Cabinet level position is responsible for developing and implementing academic and instructional programs.  Duties of the Assistant Superintendent include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervision of the Instructional Supervisors in the development, monitoring, evaluation of district curricula using the district Curriculum Review Plan
  • Lead Instructional Supervisors in the successful implementation of district curricula, strong instructional practices, and data- driven instruction
  • Create and implement the District’s Professional Development Plan every two years
  • Support the District’s instructional coaching program and mentorship program
