Responsibilities

  • Provides instructional leadership to staff including: academic and curriculum planning, review and implementation; and professional development
  • Responsible for building administration and the safety and welfare of both students and staff
  • Interacts with students to encourage the highest level of performance
  • Manages all building staff personnel
  • Resolves staff problems and provides support to teachers
  • Provides general supervision to students
  • Supervises extra-curricular activities
  • Evaluates performance of teachers, programs and staff
  • Provides in-service training to teacher as needed
  • Maintains clear focus on continuous academic improvement process
  • Prepares the school budget
  • Maintains relations with parents, parent group, school volunteers and outside agencies
  • Provide general support to building administrator
  • Manages administrative team, instructional and civil service staff
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of all units
  • Other duties as assigned

Elementary STEM Instructional Supervisor 

Other duties may be assigned.*

1. Works with building administrators and teachers to develop the philosophy and goals of the STEM curriculum.

2. Coordinates and evaluates the curriculum and instructional program and makes appropriate changes when necessary.

3. Participates in planning, distributing, and monitoring the STEM program budget

4. Works with outside educational authorities and regulatory bodies on content-related initiatives

5. Formulates and implements professional development activities which address curriculum needs.

6. Develops materials to enhance the instructional program

7. Works directly with classroom teachers to enrich instruction

8. Researches a variety of textbooks and materials and makes recommendations for purchase

9. Oversees state testing

Other Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Instructional Supervisor supervises content-area faculty members and carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the district's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems.
