Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Instruction - APRK -71704

Summary:

As a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Instruction provides leadership, oversight, and supervision for secondary schools, ensuring high standards of student achievement and instructional excellence. This role also encompasses the supervision of key departments and programs that support student success, safety, and well-being.  Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide direct oversight and support to secondary school principals to promote instructional leadership and high student achievement
  • Supervise the implementation and continuous improvement of the secondary education curriculum and programs
  • Oversee secondary school budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with instructional priorities
  • Lead and oversee the district’s Alternative Education Programs to ensure equitable and effective learning opportunities
  • Serve as a liaison between the Superintendent, secondary schools, and district departments to ensure effective communication and alignment of priorities
